In this free-to-access masterclass, Simon Turner introduces the new Local Road Safety Partner Toolkit from Driving for Better Business – a free programme from National Highways.

This toolkit has been designed to help local road safety professionals engage with local businesses about work-related road risk, supporting them to manage their drivers more effectively, with free resources to help them improve road safety.

It’s generally recognised that at least a third of all collisions, where someone was killed or seriously injured, involve at least one person who was driving for work at the time. Where there are casualties, the majority are usually other, more vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists.

Government data shows that van drivers are responsible for more road deaths per mile travelled than any other type of road user – which means that people who drive for work could be having a significant impact on your local road casualty statistics.
